the spring garden

Crazy candy colours of tulips, the carnival of bulbs. Blues, whites and yellow. Bird song at its loudest as bare earth covers itself with mounds of fresh green leaves. Hellebores and lovely plants of the shade give way to wisteria, peonies and bearded iris. Plants rise up on stems with eye-popping speed, the orchard blossom has come and gone.
The lull of winter is replaced by the orderliness of seed sowing, the race with the hoe against the weeds.
